H1N1 (Swine Flu) InfluenzaThe State of Illinois Department of Public Health recently issued some practical guidelines about the H1N1 (Swine Flu) Influenza. This material is contained in a pamphlet (available at the link:
http://www.idph.state.il.us/h1n1_flu/H1N1_Flyer.pdf and it encourages a “common sense” approach to this flu.
The Illinois Department of Public Health encourages everyone to follow three “common sense” rules, these include: Clean – Wash your hands; Cover – Cover your cough and sneeze; and, Contain – Contain your germs, stay home if sick.
If your son or daughter experiences serious flu-like symptoms (such as, a fever greater than 100◦ and cough, sore throat, etc.); please call school with this information each day of an absence, stay home, and call your doctor. If the symptoms are less severe – mildly sick with the flu – please contact school about the absence, stay home, and recover.
